🍽️ Turning Table Setting into Real-World Success!

🔍 From Practice to Independence with "I-Spy."

The real magic happens when students move beyond prompts and begin thinking for themselves. That's where our "I-Spy" activity comes in! Set up a table with multiple place settings, then remove or rearrange items. Students take on the role of problem-solvers, identifying what is missing and correcting the setup.

As students build confidence, the challenge grows—removing more items or switching placements strengthens observation, attention to detail, and critical thinking skills.

💼 Building Skills for Employment

These activities aren't just about setting a table—they're about preparing for real work opportunities. In catering, hospitality, and event settings, employees are responsible for checking tables and ensuring everything is correct. By practicing these skills, students learn to check their own work and even step into leadership roles by reviewing others' work.

🤝 Extending Learning Beyond the Classroom

We encourage teachers to share these strategies with job coaches and support teams after high school—the "I-Spy" approach in real-world settings to support success and independence.

🌟 Empowering Every Student

Every student has the potential to succeed. With structured practice, engaging activities, and real-world connections, students build the confidence and skills they need for independence and employment.

Let's continue creating opportunities for students to shine! ✨
