đź’™ Listening, Learning, and Growing Together

You Asked... We Listened!"

One of my favorite moments at the conference didn't happen during a presentation—it happened during a conversation.

A special education teacher stopped by our booth and shared that one of her students, who has high-functioning autism, loved using The Color-Coded Chef. The student understood the color system but also wanted to know the traditional measurements that matched each color-coded cup and spoon.

The teacher asked if we had a simple reference chart that showed both the colors and the standard measurements. At that moment, the answer was no—but I immediately saw the value of the idea. During the conference, I created a Color-Coded Measuring Cup and Spoon Reference Chart and emailed it to her before the event was even over.

Her response made my day:

"I love it! The title cups/spoons for each group are easier to distinguish between them."

She also shared:

"I'm impressed you had time to do this. It's also a great learning tool for measurements."

That conversation reminded me why I love attending conferences. Every teacher brings unique experiences, creative ideas, and different student needs. Sometimes the best resources aren't created behind a computer—they're created by listening to the people using them every day.

The Color-Coded Chef began because one student—my son—needed a different way to learn. Today, it continues to grow because educators continue to share ideas that make the program even better for students across the country.

Thank you for your suggestions, your creativity, and your willingness to share what works. Together, we're building tools that open new possibilities and help every student move toward greater independence. 💙🍽️
